sufrio un terrible accidente el domingo 19 de abril en el Lienzo
Charro de Escondido. Fue tirado por su caballo después
pateado en la cabeza. Tony se encuentra en el Centro de Cuidados
Intensivos del Hospital de Palomar en Escondido, CA.
Ton Muñoz suffered
a terrible accident on Sunday, April 19th at the Lienzo Charro
de Escondido. Tony is now in the Trauma Intensive Care Center
at Palomar Hospital with a severe head injury, due to the fact
the horse he was riding threw him and kicked him on the head.
Basic Background Information:
For over 37 years, Tony Muñoz
has been participating in Mexican charreadas. He has been a member
of the Charros de Escondido, Asociación de Charros la
División del Sur, Asociación de Charros Perla del
Pacifico de Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, and many more.
Tony Muñoz has won many awards at the California State
Annual Charro Tournaments. Tony Muñoz has collaborated
as a trick roper with performers such as Linda Ronstadt, Big
and Rich, Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano, along with many
folklorico dance companies. Tony Muñoz also performed
in the The Will Rogers Follies Musical.
The Accident:
On Sunday, April 19th 2009
during a charreada in Escondido, California, Tony Muñoz
was in an accident and suffered head injuries. Tony Muñoz
was thrown from his horse and kicked on the head. Tony Muñoz
was in surgery for over 11 hours at Palomar Hospital. At this
critical time, his family is asking for prayers for a complete
recovery for Tony. A financial donation to the Muñoz Family
